The 2021+ Ford Bronco out of the box is nothing but impressive. The team at Bronco Brigade have put their own Bronco through the ringer and continue to come out impressed. That is not to say the Bronco can’t be built to be more capable, more functional, and fit your needs better. A Bronco Roof Rack is a great first mod to any Bronco and one that is guaranteed to enhance your adventure by allowing you to haul and store more gear or mount a Roof Top Tent. Fortunately for Bronco owners, Ford included different accessory mounting locations which make mounting a Roof Rack (and other accessories) seamless.
Through our sister company Truck Brigade, we have years of experience with many of the manufacturers offering Roof Racks for the Bronco including Prinsu, RCI Offroad, upTOP Overland, DV8 Offroad, BA Tents, Sherpa (coming soon), and more. Below we highlight some of the most popular and highest quality 4-Door Bronco Roof Racks on the market.
Prinsu Bronco Roof Rack: The Prinsu Roof Rack is considered the original Roof Rack as they were the pioneer in the industry and credited with the current modular design seen on many Racks today. To this day, they are still considered an industry leader. The all-new Prinsu Bronco Roof Rack builds on this long-standing reputation and features a fully modular and adjustable design, aluminum construction, and custom drop points to accept their full lineup of Roof Rack Accessories. In terms of design, the Prinsu Bronco Roof Rack features two laser cut side rails, 2x1 inch cross bars, and a laser cut wind deflector that can be ordered with an optional Light Bar cutout. The Prinsu cross bars (10 total) are fully adjustable and can be placed anywhere along the inside of the Roof Rack. This gives you endless possibilities when it comes to storing gear, mounting accessories, or mounting a Roof Top Tent.
RCI Offroad Bronco Roof Rack: RCI Offroad is most widely known in the Bronco community for their bolt-on Bronco Skid Plates and Rock Sliders. The RCI Bronco Roof Rack features the same quality as their other well know Bronco products. Like the Prinsu design, the RCI Bronco Roof Rack features two laser cut side rails, 2x1 inch cross bars (9 total), and a wind fairing that can accommodate a 42-inch LED Light Bar. When installed, the RCI Bronco Roof Rack sits only 4 inches above the highest point on the roof. One unique feature on the RCI Rack not seen elsewhere is the included rear fairing as opposed to a cross bar at the very end of the rack. This provides a clean look if you were to detach the front portion of the Rack. RCI side plates and cross bars allow you to attach a slew of accessories as desired.
ZROADZ Bronco Roof Rack: ZROADZ was one of the first manufacturers to launch a Roof Rack for the 2021+ Bronco. The overall design of the ZROADZ Bronco Rack is a bit different as it features more of a tube construction and contains only 4 cross bars. It is constructed out of mild steel. The ZROADZ Bronco Rack is perfect for mounting a Roof Top Tent or other accessories. It is worth noting that you will be limited in terms of options when mounting accessories. This is because the cross bars are further apart as compared to other Racks on the market and the cross bars do not feature a “T-Slot” channel allowing unlimited mounting options. Also, be aware that the Rack does not detach at all so you will be unable to remove part of the rack if desired. For many, these are not deal breakers and the ZROADZ Bronco Rack can still be a great option with its integrated Light Mounts and low-profile design.
upTOP Overland Bronco Roof Rack: upTOP has quickly gained popularity with their Alpha and Bravo Roof Rack offerings. Recently, upTOP has launched their Alpha Bronco Roof Rack (2-door only at this time) that features (2) grooveTEK side rails, (2) armorTEK side rails, load bars, and more. The overall design of the Bronco Alpha Roof Rack is very similar to others in that it features two side rails and cross bars with a wind fairing. However, the upTOP Alpha Series Racks are known for their armorTEK and grooveTEK side rails which not only provide as aesthetic benefit, but also provide added strength and the ability to hide wiring. Unlike most other Racks, upTOP allows you to color match your Rack to your Bronco for a unique and stylish appearance. upTOP has a complete lineup of Roof Rack Accessories that will work flawlessly with the Bronco Alpha Roof Rack. Stay tuned for a 4-door Alpha offering and 2/4 door Bravo offerings for the Bronco from upTOP Overland.
Sherpa Bronco Roof Rack: Sherpa Equipment Co. has been silent with respect to a Bronco Roof Rack, but rest assured we are confident something is in the works and will be available soon. Sherpa has been one of the faster growing companies in the Roof Rack space due to some of their Racks unique features. This includes their industry leading 1/4 inch aircraft-grade aluminum side panels and stainless steel hardware. We are expecting many of these same benefits to be found on a Sherpa Bronco Roof Rack.
While that provides a decent overview of top Bronco Roof Racks, the team at Bronco Brigade would like to mention that almost all Bronco Roof Racks and the ones outlined above feature a drill free installation and install directly into the factory accessory ready locations on the front (above the windshield) and at the rear of the Bronco along the sides of the hard top. Another thing to consider with a Bronco Roof Rack is the ability to detach part of the Rack if needed. Ford did a great job with their hard top allowing you to remove sections of the top. Both the Prinsu Roof Rack and RCI Roof Rack (and likely the upTOP and Sherpa Racks) allow you to detach the front of the Rack from the back of the Rack. This is an important distinction if you plan to keep the rear portion of your hardtop on while removing the front portion and want unobstructed visibility. In most cases you can keep the complete Rack installed as it does not mount to any of the middle or front hard top panels. However, customers may want to remove the front portion of the rack when they remove the front hard top panels and keep a portion of the Rack on the back hard top panel. This can be done with a Roof Rack that has a detach point like the Prinsu and RCI Racks.
